Blackjack, also called 21, is a fast paced, thrilling, and very popular casino table game. The goal is to have your cards total 21, or as close to 21 as possible without going over. Cards are counted at their face values. Kings, queens, and jacks count as 10 and aces count as 1 or 11. Everyone plays against the dealer (the house), who begins by dealing each player and the house 2 cards. The Dealer has one card face up the other down.

Players may choose to stand or to hit (receive another card) their hands. If the hit makes the total exceed 21, the player busts, or loses. If the dealer busts and the player does not, the player wins. If the player’s hand is closer to 21 than the dealer’s hand, the player also wins. When the first two cards total 21, the player has blackjack and wins 3 to 2 on the bet, unless the dealer also has blackjack. In this case, the game is a push, or tie.
